The Greek historian Polybius, in one of his tales, tells that Hannibal stopped in the area of Piceno during his descent towards Rome and, seeing that his army’s horses were in difficulty, orded them to be rubbed with very mature red wine: the ancestor of Rosso Piceno.
From Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, cultivated on the rolling hills of the Marche and aged on the skin at a controlled temperature, this Rosso Piceno DOC is obtained with a balanced and soft body, characterized by a brilliant ruby red.
An excellent wine that stands out from an intense aroma with notes of red fruits.
