A ruby red wine made from a blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese grapes.

Morellone, a blend of Sangiovese and other red berried grapes typical of the territory, is the powerful red of the house, a wine that macerates on the skins from 6 to 9 days and which first ages in barrique, from 20 to 24 months and then in new steel for at least 12  and finally it completes refinement in the bottle for 3 months.

All these steps make it a fine wine with great qualities that has recentely won the award: 3 bicchieri Gambero Rosso

A wine of tradition, which tells the story of the Vagnoni family, the wine of convivium, of being together and Sunday lunches: a tradition enclosed in a bottle!

The nose gives notes of black cherries and sour cherries in alcohol and toasted notes of coffee and marjoram.

Description

Morelloone Piceno Doc Superiore 2019 has been given the tre bicchieri from Vini d’Italia Gambero Rosso wine rating association.

 

Grapes Variety: 70% Montepulciano and 30 % Sangiovese.

The grapes are grown in the area of Ripatransone (Piceno Doc) in Marche, where the soil of the vineyard is loose with the presence of limestone at the altitude of 280 m.

They are picked and collected in bins, maceration in 60 hl oak vats for 6-10 days.

Refining and Malo lactic fermentation in barrique from 20 to 24 months plus one year in steel tanks.

Minimum 3 months refining in bottle.

The result is a dark ruby colored red wine with ripe red fruit aromas, and spicy fragance.

the taste is intense, persistent, rightly tannic.
